Belgian defending champions Club Brugge won the top match of the twelfth match day in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday evening with 0-1 (half-time: 0-0) on a visit to RSC Anderlecht.

Anderlecht, who were beaten by West Ham on Thursday in the Conference League, started the match with Wesley Hoedt back in defence and Lucas Stassin and Mario Stroeykens in the starting line-up.

Both teams created several chances at the beginning of the match, via Jutgla, Buchanan and Sowah for Brugge, while in the Mauves' ranks, Fabio Silva was stirring during the first 20 minutes.

In the second half, it took a dive by Van Crombrugge to prevent Jutgla from putting the Gazelles in control with Bruges' first shot on target (58th). Two minutes later, it was Mignolet who saved his side from Arnstad.

Van Crombrugge then had to come out in front of Skov Olsen (67th) to keep his goal intact. But not for long. In the 69th minute, Vanaken passed back to Nielsen, who put the Club Brugge in the lead (0-1).

Casper Nielsen scored the only goal of the game after 69 minutes.

Somewhat groggy after the opening goal, Anderlecht reacted in the last 20 minutes.
