Between 14 and 20 October, an average of 111 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised daily – a figure that has remained relatively stable since the start of the autumn wave.
A total of 1,509 people with a Covid-19 infection are now in Belgian hospitals, and 76 patients are in intensive care units, according to figures from health institute Sciensano.
An average of 2,528 new Covid-19 infections were recorded daily between 11 and 17 October, 18% less that the previous week.

During the same period, an average of nine people died each day from Covid-19 infections, a slight increase compared to the previous week. Thus, bringing the death toll in Belgium to 32,846 deaths.
An average of 12,100 Covid-19 tests were taken daily, and almost a quarter proved positive.
