The 15th edition of Museum Night Fever organised on Saturday night in Brussels attracted 16,000 visitors, 4,000 more than the previous edition and the largest number ever gathered since its launch.
A total of 34 museums in the Belgian capital opened their doors outside their normal opening hours last night — between 19:00 and 01:00 — with visitors exploring an average of three to four museums throughout the night. This brings the total number of visits to 55,222.
"Of the 16,000 people who visited participating museums, 75% were under 35 years of age, confirming that the enthusiasm for museums does not wane, especially when the unexpected, the original and the festive are in order," the organisers said.
The most popular museums during the 2022 edition of the event were the BELvue Museum, which saw 9,525 visitors pass through its doors, followed by the CINEMATEK (3,935) and the Coudenberg (3,516 visits).

The evening was also an opportunity to enjoy performances by young artists in the form of a trip to the 1980s between illustration, styling and slam at the "Art et Marges Musée", a Flower Fever evening between ambient DJ sets and a herbarium workshop at the "CIVA", a circus at the "Musée de l'Armée" or a hypnotising musical performance in the underground passages of the Musée des Égouts, the press release states.
People who bought a pass for Saturday night can still exchange this for free admission to one of the participating museums until 26 November. The next edition of this initiative in Brussels museums is already scheduled for 21 October 2023.
