An Exceptional Year

2022 is an exceptional year at BEPS International School. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary, the opening of the new campus & facilities and the completion of the authorisation process for the IB DP and CP programmes.

An Exceptional Year

In 1972, a British couple founded one of the first English-speaking Schools in Brussels. They called it ‘Brussels English Primary School’, B.E.P.S.

In 2011, to highlight the international dimension of their community and their curriculum, the name was changed to ‘BEPS International School’.

In 2018, BEPS’ secondary school was founded and they started the implementation of the IB curriculum.

2022 is an exceptional year at BEPS International School. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary, the opening of the new campus & facilities and the completion of the authorisation process for the IB DP and CP programmes. With these they are now offering quality international education for children 2,5-18.

Although BEPS International School remains in its historical location, in 2021, they acquired the neighbour’s property to expand the campus. It has allowed BEPS to develop a new Early Years center with their own outdoor learning space; the primary building underwent some renovation, keeping its home-like, cosy atmosphere and a brand-new space was designed for our secondary students, offering “co-learning spaces” and providing innovative, authentic, engaging learning. Furthermore, all students also benefit from a new whole school media center.

To offer an alternative pathway to higher education and the world of work, in addition to the IB-DP, BEPS is offering the IB Career-related programme (CP). The CP is the youngest of the International Baccalaureate’s programmes. It allows our senior students to focus on a specific career, offering an alternate route to Higher Education or the world of work.

The first CP students are focussed on business and are already building an impressive portfolio of skills and knowledge which will serve them well in the future. Recently, they interviewed the owners of a family run business. Speaking at length about the nature of small and medium businesses and the problems and advantages of being a small business owner. They also had a look behind the scenes of the operations of their school, interviewing the Director and exploring the ways in which an organisation sets its mission and vision and places itself in the market.

In addition to the application of academic knowledge and understanding, the students are also gaining a deeper insight into their own strengths and weaknesses. By completing personal, professional and language portfolios, they track their development, set goals and targets for their learning, define clear objectives with criteria for success and then plan a route to achieving them.

BEPS is proud of all these achievements. They will be hosting a series of events throughout the year connecting with their community and, of course, welcoming anyone who is interested in learning more. Every day is an open day at BEPS International School.
