The Antwerp district of Berchem was once again rocked by an explosion on Friday morning, local police reported. At around 03:20, an explosion occurred in front of a property, damaging the door of the house. No injuries were reported, a police spokesperson said.
The very same property has been targeted with explosives several times in the past. Police state that this is likely another incident of narco-violence in Antwerp’s increasingly violent struggle between drug gangs.
Criminals have become increasingly brazen in their attacks, repeatedly targeting properties and addresses. On Thursday, an explosion was reported in the Antwerp district of Wilrijk. This was the second explosion to occur on the same street within a week.
