After being sacked by RSC Anderlecht on 24 October, Felice Mazzu is back at his old football club, Royal Charleroi Sporting Club, Belga News Agency reports. Having already been with the club between 2013 and 2019, Mazzu succeeds Edward Still, who was dismissed on 22 October.
After leaving Charleroi in 2019, Mazzu, 56, managed Genk, Union Saint-Gilloise and then Anderlecht, where he was sacked the day after the Clasico defeat against Standard de Liège.
Between 2013 and 2019, the Carolo led the Zebras to three playoff appearances and to the preliminary rounds of the Europa League in the 2015-2016 season. In his first term, he managed 259 matches for Sporting with a record of 108 wins, 66 splits and 85 defeats.
In 2019, he left Charleroi for Genk but was sacked after five months in Limburg due to a lack of results. Mazzu then bounced back to Union Saint-Gilloise, whom he led to the D1B title in the 2020-2021 season and then to a surprising 2nd place behind Club Brugge last season.

Mazzu took over from Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht last summer but was sacked on 24 October when the Mauves were in 12th place with 16 points from 42 after 14 games and a crucial defeat at Standard that was halted by disgruntled Anderlecht fans when their team was 3-1 down.
Mazzu has signed a permanent contract for his second stint with the Zebras and will work with the existing staff, including Frank Defays who will be in charge of the team against Mechelen on Saturday evening.
Mazzu will be back with the group from November 28th to prepare the second part of the championship after the World Cup with a first match against... Anderlecht at the end of December.
