On Sunday 20 November, the body of Natacha de Crombrugghe, a 28-year-old Belgian tourist who went missing in Peru at the end of January, will be repatriated to Belgium, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday.

In early October, it was confirmed that the remains found in a canyon in the Andes in Peru on 21 September were de Crombrugghe's. The cause of death has not been specified.

On Monday, an autopsy will be carried out in Belgium, and possible follow-up investigations will be considered after analysis of the results of the expertise. "At this stage, there is no evidence to confirm a possible criminal track or the intervention of a third party."

Analyses of the remains carried out in Peru identified the victim as Natacha de Crombrugghe "thanks to a DNA test on the victim's relatives."
