No incidents were to be registered on Saturday evening in the centre of Brussels following the 3rd place playoff match between Croatia and Morocco in Qatar.

Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police confirmed that “no arrests were made and there are no incidents in the Brussels-Capital Region.”

However, traffic on Boulevard du Midi and Boulevard Poincaré in Brussels was closed as a precautionary measure just after the end of the match on Saturday to allow the police to contain any disturbances that might arise.

The tunnel from the Porte de Hal to the Gare du Midi was also closed. “After the match, there were about a hundred people on Boulevard Lemonnier, and thanks to the presence of the ‘gilets verts’ (volunteers present among the revellers) everything remained calm.

"At around 18:45, traffic was restored,” said Ilse van de keere, spokesperson for the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone. In addition, there were no disturbances in Antwerp after the fixture, although the police made a few administrative arrests, the police said on Saturday evening.
