No one notices the discreet rococo entrance at Korte Nieuwstraat 12 in the heart of old Antwerp. Ring the bell and you will be admitted to a sublime boutique hotel at the end of an ancient lane.
The building dates back to the 15th century. But it has been given a fresh look by the interior designer Gert Voorjans.
The former merchant’s residence now has a lounge, library and conservatory, along with a secret back garden. The interiors have been decorated in a rich and flamboyant style featuring bold colours, chandeliers and original murals. Don’t be surprised if you come across a fashion shoot happening here.
