The Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that a 29-year-old man is accused of fatally stabbing his uncle in the Molenbeek municipality on Wednesday. The victim was rushed to the CHU Saint-Pierre hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that a murder was committed on Rue de Geneffe in the municipality of Molenbeek on Wednesday. As had been reported by La Dernière Heure, the victim was the assailant's uncle and died after being stabbed several times by his 29-year-old nephew.
Witnesses stated that they saw the suspect running barefoot in the street with a knife in his hand before rushing into a house and stabbing his uncle. The victim was taken to the nearby CHU Saint-Pierre hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

After the stabbing, the assailant attempted to flee the scene of the crime being intercepted by police officers; the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office has now opened an investigation into the incident.
