Warmest 1 January in history second year in a row

New Year’s Eve was already historically warm, and in the early hours of 1 January, more records were broken when 15.2 degrees was recorded in the Royal Meteorological Institute in Uccle.

Saturday was the hottest New Year’s Eve since measurements began in 1833, when temperatures reached 16.3 degrees in Brussels.

The warm weather continued on Sunday with 15.2 degrees recorded during the night. The previous record was set last year with 14.3 degrees.
