Members of the U.S. band, The Black Eyed Peas, wore a rainbow bracelet during a New Year’s concert in Poland, causing a controversy in Polish political circles.
Through the bracelet, the band wanted to thank the country for its hospitality toward Ukrainian refugees. It also used the bracelet to advocate for the lgbt community, among others.
This caused a stir among Polish politicians, with Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro writing on Twitter: “Violence, destroying churches and corrupting our children? The rainbow flag is a symbol of intolerance and aggression.”
The Polish deputy justice minister joined him in this.
Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am replied by tweeting “#Whereisthelove?” which is also the title of one of the band's hit songs.
