From 23 January until 30 April, any Belgian household yet to receive the basic energy support measures that had previously been announced by the Federal Government can apply for it directly to the FPS Economy.
These federal measures included the payment of €135 and €61 per month that aim to ease the burden on Belgian gas and electricity bills respectively. Unveiled in September, these payments were extended until March during the Federal Government's budgetary discussions which were finalised the following month.
These payments were either automatically removed from household bills or transferred to their individual bank account by their energy supplier. However, some are yet to receive this premium.
According to the FPS Economy, this is due to customer details with the supplier not matching those in the national register.

This is not the first time that the federal service has been delayed by the energy supplier not having the correct information – the payment of a €135 heating allowance has been delayed for the same reason.
As a result, FPS Economy announced that these households can apply directly to them for the support measure.
