The City of Charleroi has relaunched the sale of municipal buildings it no longer uses, Xavier Desgain, Charleroi’s alderman for buildings, said on Friday.
Desgain said about 20 public properties are involved.
At the beginning of its mandate, the City worked on drawing up an inventory of municipal buildings that it no longer used. These included houses, as well as a school.
It then consulted various organisations, such as the social housing company La Sambrienne, the Régie communale autonome, and associations, to find out whether they might be interested in acquiring the buildings.
“From now on, we are offering everyone the opportunity to acquire these properties,” Desgain said.
