On Tuesday 14 February, what may be the largest speed dating event ever will be organised at Tour & Taxis in Brussels. Dates will be picked in advance based on people's sexual orientation and age and participants can expect to meet around 15 people over the course of the evening.
"Maybe you will meet the love of your life and if not, you are sure to have a story to tell!" the event's organiser, Dare to Date, said, adding that aside from breaking a world record the event also aims to help single people meet others in a "cool and relaxed" atmosphere.
Participants will be colour coded based on their interest group. Women will be sat at one table and can remain seated throughout the evening. Every six minutes, a new person will sit in front of them. This will go on for two hours, until 22:00, after which people are free to stay for a drink until the wee hours.

At the end of the evening, all participants will receive an email link with the names of all the participants, allowing people to indicate who they would like to see again. If the "like" is returned, participants will be notified the next day.
Currently, the world record for the largest speed date is 964 people in Dublin, Ireland, which was made on Valentine's Day four years ago.
People hoping to widen their chances of finding "The One" this Valentine's Day can register on the Dare to Date website. A ticket cost €26 and includes two drinks.
