The body of a person who died under suspicious circumstances was found on Saturday evening in Dendermonde, the East Flanders public prosecutor’s office said on Sunday.
The police discovered the body in a house in the Audeghem area, and indications are that the victim, who was not immediately officially identified, was violently killed.
An investigating judge has been appointed, and an autopsy of the body was expected to take place on Monday.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the investigation, but it was not immediately clear what their involvement was in the events, believed to have taken place in the family sphere.
