Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to arrive in Brussels at 10:00 ahead of Thursday's EU summit. He will be accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron; the pair left France together by plane at around 08:30.
As had been rumoured and then officially announced, Zelenskyy will be continuing his tour of Europe on Thursday, having met with Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday evening.
Translation of tweet: "Honouring Ukraine and its people. Honouring you, dear Volodymyr, for your bravery and engagement."
Earlier on Wednesday the Ukrainian leader had visited British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London.
During both visits, Zelenskyy called for deliveries of fighter jets at the “earliest possible time” to push back Russia’s offensive in his country, a message he is excepted to reiterate at Thursday's summit.

While Macron and Scholz, often regarded as the EU's dominant leaders, seemed undecided on sending fighter jets to Ukraine, they did both promise to continue supporting the war-torn state "as long as necessary."
In any case, further European aid will be among the topics discussed on Thursday, with the EU Commission already pledging to send Ukraine further support during last week's joint summit in Kyiv, at which Ursula Von der Leyen and Charles Michel were both present.
