‘Van Gogh: The immersive experience,’ an exhibition devoted to Vincent Van Gogh, will be held for the second time in Brussels from 18 February.
The experience around the works of the Dutch painter has been reworked and enriched with new content.
In the Horta gallery, visitors will be invited to lose themselves in the world of Van Gogh thanks to digital projections from floor to ceiling, to the rhythm of a soundtrack created especially for the event. More than 300 of the artist’s works will be presented.
For its second visit to the Belgian capital, the exhibition has been enriched. In the new immersive room, ‘From woodblocks to Van Gogh,’ the public will now be able to discover the technique of woodblock printing, invented in China more than a thousand years ago. This technique was later used in Japan to produce the famous Japanese prints, in which Van Gogh was very interested and which influenced him in his work.
Virtual reality is also added to the experience, allowing visitors to embark on “a sensory journey” to discover the painter’s trajectory and sources of inspiration.
The exhibition, organised by the Brussels-based Exhibition Hub, first came to the Belgian capital in 2018. It has since toured the world, attracting more than five million visitors.
