STIB and De Lijn services will also be affected by the national strike on Friday 10 March, both transport operators have confirmed on Thursday.
STIB's joint union front will support the national action day for public services and transport and has submitted a strike notice for Friday 10 March. As the transport company expects a large mobilisation of its staff, bus, metro and tram lines will be severely disrupted. STIB has asked passengers to plan for alternative solutions on that day.
Passengers will be updated in real-time from 06:00 on Friday 10 March via the STIB website, social media and app, as well as on the various stops throughout the city. The Customer Care service will be reachable by phone on 070 23 2000 and via social media Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the company announced in a press release on Thursday.
De Lijn also expects disruptions
De Lijn told The Brussels Times that it is currently asking colleagues to state whether they will be participating in the strike action on 10 March, and cannot, as of yet not determine which lines will be affected.
The transport company said that it will update passengers on 7 or 8 March via its website, app and social media so that alternative plans can be made.
