Supporters of Belgian football clubs Beerschot, Lierse and Beveren can take their fandom to the grave with them, almost literally, thanks to an initiative by Fubo, a company that offers exceptional locations for funerals.
Fans of the clubs will soon be able to have their funerals held at the stadiums where they followed their home team during their life, thanks to a cooperation agreement between Fubo and the three teams. At present only fans of Beerschot, Lierse and Beveren are being accommodated by the agreement, but Fubo hopes that other clubs may sign up if the initiative proves successful.
"We understand that football is more than a sport," Fubo’s spokesperson told VRT News. "It’s a way of life and part of people’s identity."

Beerschot is making one of their function rooms available for the funeral services. "It’s a multifunctional space used for meetings, conferences, weddings and VIP dinners during matches," a spokesperson told VRT. "You can see the pitch and it contains numerous memorabilia including silverware and (former striker) Rik Coppens’s golden boot."
Funerals at football clubs are just the latest of Fubo’s projects to offer original ceremonies. They also offer funerals in theatres, an old tram, at auctioneer’s Bernaerts, at the Kinepolis cinema complex and during boat trips on the Rivers Schelde and Rupel.
