A shell has been found by a resident in the Walloon municipality of Visé, in the province of Liège, on Monday morning.
The city centre has been closed off to the public, with the explosive disposal service currently on site.
The shell was discovered by a resident shortly before 09:00 on Place Reine Astrid in heart of Visé.
The police were subsequently notified with a bomb disposal squad dispatched to the scene at 09:45.
The disposal service was accompanied by the mayor of Visé Viviane Dessart.
They are yet to offer any information regarding the shelling's size or origin.
