The federal select ministerial committee, known as the 'kern', failed on Monday to agree on a strategy to resolve the reception crisis.
"We shall continue on Wednesday," Nicole de Moor (CD&V), spokesperson for the state secretary for asylum and migration, told Belga News Agency.
More than 3,000 asylum-seekers have been left homeless in recent months due to a lack of places in reception centres. Some of the asylum-seekers have successfully taken legal action to have the Belgian state pay them damages.
The federal deputy prime ministers had been expected to validate an action plan on Monday to try to end the reception crisis.
