A professor at a college in Comines is facing grooming charges and will appear in court on Thursday for the first day of the trial. The teacher had made a fake Facebook profile to trap teenagers, most ages 14 to 17, into sending sexual photos.
It was found out that he had baited 400 students and trapped half of them in having sexual exchanges between 2017 and 2018.
The teacher made his fake profile based on a real girl by using her name and photo. He began contacting young boys, many were students of his, and asking for intimate photos and videos.

One of the student's parents had discovered their son's online chats and filed a complaint. The police were then able to identify the professor by tracking his IP address and his telephone number which was linked to his Facebook account.
He was placed under an electronic bracelet for a year and is now on trial for rape after having forced some of his victims to put objects in the anus. He is facing jail time and providing compensation for the victims.
