A major police chase took place on Thursday morning between the Walloon towns of Nivelles and Seneffe, Sudinfo reports. A large police presence was deployed and the suspect was finally shot.
According to initial reports, a couple was chased in their vehicle coming from Nivelles. After a high-speed pursuit, the vehicle got stuck on Rue des Lilas in Seneffe. As many as 20 police officers arrived on the scene.
The police were reportedly forced to open fire on the suspect. According to witnesses, the suspect was lying on the ground at the time of the shooting. The female passenger was not struck by gunfire.
It is believed that the suspect is known to police in relation to drug trafficking.
