To celebrate labour day, the free city festival is back at Varkensmarkt which will be transformed into a real festival site for one day. There will be a great line-up of Brussels bands who will set the tone for what will be a great reunion.
This year's one.may festival celebrations in Brussels will once again be festive. After the traditional speeches and parade, a true city festival will be organised on the Varkensmarkt from 2.30pm at Rue du Marché aux Porcs.
The impressive line up will include Roland and Chibi Ichigo, who are the headliners. But there is also plenty of fun entertainment for the kids and tasty food and pints are of course not missing!
Of course, there will also be several local initiatives and political speeches this year. This will be the case in Evere and Molenbeek. From Molenbeek, the annual parade will also start. This time festively graced by the FanFa kids. End point is the Varkensmarkt – Rue du Marché aux Porcs where, from 2.30pm onwards, various free activities for children and great performances will take place.
A great musical line up will be provided by Hounddog Jr., the Elvis cover band with Frank Vander Linden, followed by hip-hopper LeBlanc.
Around 7pm, Roland with his friends BJ Scott, Ad Cominotto and PJ Desmet.
We will close after 8pm with the uplifting electronic music of Chibi Ichigo.
