Six self-managed Delhaize shops in Belgium, including two in the Brussels-Capital Region, are closed on Monday due to ongoing staff strike action.
The closures are evenly distributed across the different regions: two shops in Flanders, two in Brussels and two in Wallonia have kept their doors closed on Monday, a company spokesperson told Belga News Agency.
In the Capital Region, the concerned outlets are the Delhaize Prins van Luik/Prince de Liège in the municipality of Molenbeek and Delhaize Dikke Beuk/Arbre Ballon in Jette.
A labour dispute has been taking place at Delhaize since the management announced on 7 March it wants to franchise its 128 self-managed supermarkets. More information about the situation can be found here.

Despite three special works councils and two reconciliation attempts led by a social mediator, talks between unions and management are still deadlocked.
Today, a scheduled regular works council will take place at Delhaize, but employee representatives have already made it clear that they do not have high expectations for the outcome of the meeting.
