Anyone who has ever searched for accommodation in Brussels will know that finding a place that meets your needs, and especially your budget, is not easy.
A ranking recently published by the Immoweb website has confirmed this. According to the ranking, published in an article by RTBF, the Brussels-Capital Region has the highest property rates in the country.
On average, Brussels is 700€/m² more expensive than the next province in the ranking, Flemish Brabant.

Focusing on Brussels, the ranking also breaks down each commune and even shows the most and least expensive streets in the capital. In Ixelles, four of the streets in the top five are located in the Flagey district.
These are:
- Rue du Buisson, Flagey – (5557€/m²)
- Rue de Belle-Vue, Flagey – (5510€/m²)
- Avenue des Klauwerts, Flagey – (5406€/m²)
- Rue Louis Hymans, Ixelles Ouest – (5395€/m²)
- Avenue Géo Bernier, Flagey – (5280€/m²)
Belgium
When it comes to Belgium as a whole, according to this ranking, the five most expensive streets in Belgium are all located in the Brussels region, in the south of the capital:
- Avenue des Chalets, Uccle 1180 (5662€/m²)
- Rue du Buisson, City of Brussels 1000 (5600€/m²)
- Rue du Buisson, Ixelles 1050 (5557€/m²)
- Drève du Caporal, Uccle 1180 (5529€/m²)
- Drève de Lorraine, Uccle 1180 (5514€/m²)
Immoweb explains that it uses a sophisticated methodology that practices a form of extrapolation from a history of selling prices and demographic statistics, taking care to reduce all prices per m², to compile its ranking.
