It may not come as a surprise to those looking to buy an apartment or a house, but Brussels remains the region with the highest property prices in Belgium.
Last year, the median price for a terraced or semi-detached house in Belgium was €255,000 in 2022 – up from €235,000 in 2021. In the Brussels-Capital Region, however, that median price was €491,750. Not only does that amount to almost 10% more than the year before, it is also nearly double the average Belgian price.
Meanwhile, detached houses in Brussels sold for a median price of €1,150,000, which was the same as last year when it first surpassed €1 million. Still, even within the Capital Region, there are major price differences depending on where you are looking to buy exactly.
The municipality of Ixelles remains the most expensive, as the median price for a house was €790,000 last year. In the municipality of Anderlecht, on the other hand, the median price was €338,500.
Those looking to buy a flat are also best of in Anderlecht (median price last year was €190,000), while those who do not mind spending more should keep an eye on Woluwe-Saint-Pierre (where the median price was nearly double: €363,000).
