Two people died in a road accident on Avenue de Philippeville in Marcinelle (Charleroi, province of Hainaut) during the night of Thursday to Friday, the local fire brigade have confirmed.
Four parked vehicles were hit when the car went off-road at around 01:30 on Friday.
The fire from the crashed vehicle spread to the surrounding cars and to the front of a nearby house, where a couple and a child were evacuated. Firefighters from the Hainaut-Est rescue zone intervened at 01:45 following the incident.
"Two young people, born in 1997, were in a Ferrari travelling from Couillet to Charleroi. The driver then decided to overtake a lorry and, for an unknown reason, lost control of the vehicle," hitting four parked vehicles and an electricity pole, reports Le Soir.

"Unfortunately, we discovered two bodies in one of the vehicles. This has, of course, caused quite a stir in the neighbourhood," confirmed spokesperson for the Hainaut-Est rescue zone, Michel Méan.
"We have no information on the circumstances of the accident and the identity of the victims," he concluded.
The road was closed to traffic until 5.30am on Friday morning.
