Romelu Lukaku was visited by RSC Anderlecht’s U12 squad on Saturday evening to mark his 30th birthday. Belgium's record goalscorer started his career with the Brussels side.
He shared a moment with the young players after his team Inter Milan beat Sassuolo 4-2, with Lukaku scoring twice. The Anderlecht youngsters also gave him a personalised shirt to celebrate his 30th birthday.
The youth team had been playing against Inter Milan's U12 squad which "turned out to be a fantastic and inspiring experience for the Neerpede players, but was also full of symbolism."
Moreover, "almost all of our youth teams have been celebrating their victories by doing the same gesture as Romelu," which he had started doing in response to the racist chants he was subject to during Inter Milan's match against Juventus.
