The manager of a cafe and one of his customers were stabbed Friday night in the town of Kanne near Riemst in Limburg province.
A 58-year-old man from Bassenge (Liege province) was arrested, the Limburg Public Prosecutor’s Office said on Saturday.
The events occurred at around 21:30 in the De Sjötter cafe in the Brugstraat, when a man attacked the manager of the café with a knife. A customer intervened and was also injured.
The perpetrator then fled, but police were able to apprehend him.
“The suspect stabbed the 30-year-old café manager in the abdominal area. The 56-year-old customer who intervened was injured in the chest,” a spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office said.
The two victims were taken to hospital but were soon able to return home.
