The open-air swimming pool in Antwerp’s Boekenberg Park was converted in 2007 into the country’s first eco swimming pool.
The German landscape architect firm Dongus lined the pool floor with than 22,000 aquatic plants to maintain the water purity.
Located in the Antwerp suburbs, Boekenberg is now one of the best pools for a summer swim. It is free to use, but it can get crowded on hot days.
