The Brussels Fire Brigade, police and STIB technical services responded to a call at 04:30 on Wednesday morning to free a man who was trapped with his leg in a roller shutter at Porte de Hal metro station, fire service spokesperson Walter Derieuw reported.
“The man was freed – taking into account, among others, medical requirements – and transferred to the hospital under SMUR escort (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service),” Derieuw stated. “The circumstances of the incident are not yet clear.”
Just over a week ago, on May 23, a similar incident occurred with a heavily inebriated man left hanging from the metro station at Parvis de Saint-Gilles.
