As the 32nd edition of Couleur Café festival will kick off in just over three weeks with the organisation revealing the final 14 acts for the festival weekend.
After releasing several names of its line-up every few weeks, Couleur Café organisation has announced that its final acts will be completing the festival's list this summer, due to take place in the Osseghem Park at the foot of the Atomium.
On Friday, Mexican DJ Coco Maria will warm up the Black Stage with a mix of upbeat and obscure samples ranging from jazz to samba, Latin funk and cumbia. Antwerp-based DJ DTM Funk will take over the turntable with soul, groove and rhythm, followed by Coco Em, who will present her own style of East African house.
This will all be topped off with Danilo Plessow (MCDE), better known as Motor City Drum Ensemble – one of the most influential DJs and producers of his generation, who will undoubtedly spin a legendary set.
From soul to minimalist bass beats
The next day, the party will be started by Yooth b2b Bona Léa with a soaring and soulful sound typical of Future Bass, laced with afro rhythms, funk and house. Next is the Portuguese Nídia, who will provide a serving of energetic, polyrhythmic dance tracks with her percussion-driven beats and spaced-out sounds.
On Sunday afternoon, M I M I will conquer the dance floor with R&B, hip-hop, dancehall and afro house. Additionally, South Africa's DJ Lag will complete the programme of the Black Stage with his minimalist sound and heavy bass beats – known as gqom – a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010s in Durban.

"No edition of Couleur Café goes by without the necessary dose of dance," the organisation said. "Get ready for an explosion of talent with the professional dancers Kasketo, Elya, Kanessa and Yoshi, from the prestigious MAKADI IDEAS CREATIVE STUDIO, who will set La Plancha ablaze."
Their performances will be accompanied by sets with a wide range of genres, starting from the K4 collective, the Liège producer Dipsy, MAMA OD, Bo Meng, Latin music DJ Andrex, and the Bloody Louis' resident DJ, Tanaflow.
