Sunday was the hottest 11 June ever recorded in Belgium, a meteorologist revealed on Twitter, reaching a record-high temperature of 31.2°C in Uccle.
The Royal Meteorological Institute’s (RMI) David Dehenauw stated that this year’s 11 June broke the previous record set in 2006, making it the hottest daily record for 11 June since records began in 1892.
The temperature stood at 31.2°C yesterday in Uccle, home to the institute's weather-recording station. Yesterday's heat outdid the previous record for this date by 1°C, set in 2006.

The return of the summer heat has left some fearing an early heatwave; it is now forecast that there will be at least five consecutive days with temperatures above 25°C. This led the IRM to issue a yellow warning, advising Belgians to be vigilant during the high temperatures.
