A truck damaged the railway bridge over the Rue Gineste behind the Rogier square in Brussels on Tuesday morning. The street under the bridge is closed for traffic, but the trains are still allowed to use it, confirmed Infrabel.
"The truck was too tall and hit the underside of the bridge over the road," said Audrey Dereymaeker from police zone Brussels North.
The impact possibly caused problems with the stability of the bridge. "Mobility Brussels is checking to see if it is safe to let traffic pass under the bridge," she added.
It is not clear how long the street will remain closed.
