The police found the man with the large backpack they spread pictures of in connection with the disappearance of the 23-year-old Julie Van Espen. In Leuven, a man who is believed to be the 'important witness' the police spread pictures of on Monday morning was found by the police, confirmed the public prosecutor's office.
In a very short period of time, the police received over 200 tips about both Van Espen and the man with the backpack.
He was filmed near the place where Van Espen was last seen. The man is currently being questioned as a witness. "We will see if that changes after the interrogation," said VRT journalist Caroline Van den Berghe.
