School pupils and teachers in the Brussels municipality of Jette were evacuated from their building after police received a bomb threat, but no explosives were found.
A school on Rue Léon Theodor in Jette was closed off on Friday morning following a bomb threat, Het Laatste Nieuws reported. The news was then confirmed by local police Brussels West, who added that the school is currently being searched for explosives by two Federal police dogs, during which no explosives were found.
The security perimeter that had been set up was therefore lifted around 11:00, the police reported. "We have meanwhile also opened an investigation into the perpetrator of the bomb threat."
Brussels West police had been informed at around 07:40 on Friday morning that a bomb threat had been received by the Athénée Royal of Ganshoren, some of whose pupils are temporarily attending school in Jette as the school buildings are being renovated. No pupils were present at the time of the report.

The police immediately decided to evacuate the school building on Rue Léon Theodor, as well as the adjacent fitness centre. Meanwhile, the students are being taken care of in a square nearby.
The Federal police were also informed and they arrived at the scene with two dogs to search the school for explosives, but none were found.
