Shopping streets across Brussels' city centre have been decked out with aerial decorations inspired by the work of René Magritte to mark the 125th anniversary of the famous Belgian painter's birth on 21 November.

The City of Brussels announced that the decorations will remain visible until 30 November, which Economic Councillor Fabian Maingain hopes will "raise the city centre's profile and showcase our businesses."

From aerial floral installations and flags to innovative works of art, each street has been transformed into a veritable open-air gallery ready to be captured on film. Maingain praised the initiative, stating that it had created "Instagram-worthy worlds in the city's different areas".

Most of these decorations have been installed in the capital's Marolles district, with the neighbourhood's Rue Haute, Rue Blaes and Rue des Renards home to a series of surrealistic artistic installations.
