The sister of a 31-year-old Belgian tourist who has gone missing in Australia has issued an urgent appeal for support.

In a Facebook post published on Monday evening, Amélie Cremer said that she had not heard from sister Céline since 16 June 2023. She added that Céline's phone last connected to the internet four days later.

She also noted that local police forces recently found Céline's unattended car, a white Honda CRV, in a car park near Philosopher Falls, a popular hiking trail in Tasmania's sparsely populated northwest.

"If you have any information on my sister, please contact me directly or my mom Ariane Cremer," Amélie wrote. "Please share this post widely and help us find her."

According to Australian media, the Tasmanian authorities received an official "concern for welfare" report for Céline on Monday. A search of the Philosopher Falls area is currently being conducted by drone and on foot.

In a separate Facebook post, the Tasmania Police said that Céline was last seen in Hobart, Tasmania's capital city. They also urged anyone who possesses any information concerning her whereabouts to contact them at (+61) 133 444.
