Circulation throughout the city will be impacted from Thursday as European Union leaders gather in the Belgian capital, bringing with them extensive motorcades and road blockages which will result in vehicle deviations and restricted public services.
The European Union (EU) summit will kick off on Thursday and last until Friday.
A security perimeter will be established mostly around the European quarter, and both pedestrians and vehicles wishing to access it will have to request a laissez-passer.

Services such as waste recollection or deliveries will be suspended as well, and residents living within the established security perimeter will not be able to leave their rubbish bags on the pavement on either day, according to local police.
The security perimeter will be laid out all around the Rond-Point Schuman and its surrounding streets (Rue Froissart, Rue Juste Lipse) and through some parts of Rue de la Loi and Rue Belliard.
On both days, parking will be prohibited within the perimeter as well as in several other streets and avenues, including Rue Archimède, Chaussée d'Etterbeek, Rue Breydel, Avenue d'Auderghem, and others.
Public transport lines will also be affected, and while the Schuman metro station will remain open, access to it will be restricted and several bus lines will deviate to the Maelbeek metro stop.
Residents living, working or needing access through that area will require an entry authorization delivered by police, which they will have to present together with identity documents to gain access to the security perimeter.
