This Friday marks the official start of the holidays for Belgium’s French-speaking community, with Brussels International Airport (Zaventem) bracing itself for the arrival of 80,000 passengers today alone, Le Soir reports.
Tomorrow, a further 71,000 people are expected, as well as 77,000 on Sunday. The weekend promises to be a busy period, both on the roads and at major transportation hubs. The airport advises passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours in advance of their flight.
So far, no flight delays or cancellations have been announced.

“The transit of Dutch people creates additional crowds in our country . There will therefore be a lot of traffic on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning with the risk of traffic jams towards the coast and on the E411 towards the Ardennes,” RTBF warned. Traffic will also be heavy on the E19 motorway.
