A motorcyclist has died following a police chase in Gilly, Charleroi, Belgium.
The incident occurred late Saturday night on the R3 motorway (the “ring road” around Charleroi). The rider was attempting to evade a police check when he lost control of his motorbike. He had been driving without adequate insurance and registration.
According to the Charleroi Public Prosecutor’s Office, “He was in breach of insurance and registration requirements. He tried to run away but eventually ran off the road and was thrown from his bike. His helmet shattered due to the force of the impact.”
