Two grenades and a firearm were fished out of the Meuse in Liège on Sunday afternoon, local police reported.

Liège police were called to the scene late on Sunday afternoon in the Cité Ardente, near the Fragnée bridge.

A magnet fisherman was on the banks of the Meuse, not far from the Dérivation canal, when he pulled up two grenades and a revolver-type handgun.

A security perimeter was immediately set up, while the weapon and ammunition were removed.
