Twitter owner Elon Musk appears to want to change the Twitter brand and the iconic blue bird as a logo. "Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand, and gradually to all birds," Musk tweeted.

Musk, who bought Twitter last year for about $44 billion, has already spun off the social networking site into a new company called X Corp. On Sunday, Musk posted an image of a flickering ‘X’, without further details. "If enough X logo is posted tonight, we will go live tomorrow," Musk tweeted.

Musk has previously expressed the idea of turning Twitter into an all-app where users can make payments, chat, read news, play games and shop. In doing so, he also mentioned the name X. Musk has also once responded positively on Twitter to an idea to make all his companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Boring Company and Twitter part of one new company called X.

Given Musk's periodical provocations, it is unclear whether he actually wants to make the change or if he just wants to cause a commotion.

In April, for instance, he had Twitter’s logo replaced by the symbol of the cryptocurrency Dogecoin for a few days. The price of the cryptocurrency, which Musk himself supports, briefly went up at the time.
