The second edition of the International Photo Biennial in Ostend will kick off on 16 September, with a connection with other art forms as being the theme of this year's biennial.

Works by more than 30 national and international photographers can be seen at various locations across the city.

Curator Stephane Verheye is giving a group of art photographers a stage at the second edition of the International Photo Biennial this autumn. Among others, American Joel-Peter Witkin is exhibiting his work at Fort Napoleon. The work of Belgian couple Tony Le Duc and Diane Hendrikx is also on show there.

Belgian Marie Wynants will then exhibit again at the James Ensor House in Ostend, together with young photographer Athos Burez. In Leopold Park, visitors can view photographs by Mous Lamrabat. The work of Austrian Aglaia Konrad is at Mu.ZEE.

Other artists on display include Jenny Boot, Julia Fullerton-Batten, Luca Izzo, Stefano Bonazzi, Jenny Ymker and Soo Burnell. “Expect a trail along surrealism, realism, chiaroscuro, cartoon, installation art, colours, still life, details and, above all, room for personal interpretation,” the organisers said.

From September 16 to November 12, visitors can view the works at various indoor and outdoor locations. Moreover, six galleries will also open their doors with works by photographers. The outdoor locations and galleries are free to visit, for the indoor locations you can book tickets.
