French influencer and livestreamer 'Pape San' was attacked in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles on Tuesday, Le Soir reports. The attacker was armed with a knife.

The French streamer was posing for a picture with a fan when a man violently snatched his designer hat from his head. Shocked, the streamer gave chase to the attacker, who dropped a pocket knife during his escape.

The young streamer, who has 238,000 followers on Instagram, later approached Brussels police officers who escorted the victim to the police station.

"I have a few scratches… but by the grace of God I'm fine. I also got my beret back. It could have been very serious because he had a knife on him but God spared me," he told his followers. "I have only had good encounters in Brussels and I know very well that the nationality or the origin of the aggressor does not represent anything or anyone."

Nevertheless, the livestreamer admitted that he "won't be coming back [to Brussels] anytime soon".
