The body of a 19-year-old man who fell into the Leuven canal on Tuesday morning has been found, the city's public prosecutor's office confirmed on Saturday. The body was spotted shortly after 08:00 by passers-by.
Since the young man's disappearance, the Leuven police and Missing Persons Unit had been actively searching for the body, with the help of divers, boats and helicopters.
A forensic doctor has been dispatched to the scene.
