The price of diesel at the pump will go up to €2.027 per litre from tomorrow (Tuesday) – the highest level since mid-November 2022, when the €2/L threshold was exceeded for the last time.
Fuel prices have been high for some time, and the maximum price for diesel (B7) will again rise by 7.7 cents on Tuesday, to a total of €2.027/L, announced the Federal Economy Ministry. The price for gasoline remains stable: for petrol 95, the maximum price is €1.8750/L. For petrol 98, the maximum is €2.1050/L.
Heating oil, however, is also becoming more expensive again; the maximum price for an order of 2,000 litres of gas oil heating (50S) will increase by 4.31 cents to €1.1091/L – the most expensive since the end of January.
The price increases are due to the Organisation of Oil Producing Countries (OPEC)'s decision to pump fewer barrels of oil, which results in less supply. This way, OPEC wants to create scarcity, which causes prices to rise.
