The Flemish Government reached a budget agreement on Saturday evening, the region’s Minister-President Jan Jambon (N-VA) announced.
After "fluid and constructive" negotiations, Jambon was able to announce at around 22:30 on Saturday evening that an agreement had been reached. The regional leader will specify which investments and cuts are planned in a government statement on Monday.
"We have an agreement! The Flemish Government has just reached an agreement on the budget and a series of other important measures for the coming years. The texts and explanations will be provided on Monday during the September statement to the Flemish parliament," Minister-President Jambon announced on Saturday evening on social media.
This declaration traditionally sets out the broad lines of governance for the coming years and the contours of the budget.

The main focus will be on the figure made available for early childhood care.
The Flemish Christian Democrats (CD&V) had put a proposal of €330 million on the table. with other parties also favourable to investment in this area.
It remains to be seen how much has been allocated, how the resources will be distributed and what other measures have been selected, such as the introduction of flexi-jobs or logistics staff.
Finally, another question mark concerns what cuts are planned in other areas to finance these investments. No details have yet filtered out about the content of this agreement.
